The Scientists may think they can predict the climate 40 years out, but the Canada Geese  are undoubtedly more reliable in their forecasts of the coming Winter weather. And they do it without all kinds of computer "imaginings"..
For the past 5 days at least flights of Geese have been heading South each morning. Possibly at other times as well, but I see or hear them in the mornings. Don't know where they embark from, but they get over here at about 7:30 am each day. The flights are getting larger. This morning's was about 50. not sure if they're carrying passports or not. Guess they better be careful about evading Home Security or they may find that fighters are up chasing them down..

In any event, after an unseasonably warm, dry Summer up/out here These harbingers of things to come are trying to let us know we should prepare  for an early and cold Winter.  So beware all you folk in the sweltering hinterland -- Global freezing is coming. (Or do I have to write a book flaunting my scientific findings in order to get your attention? Everybody seems to be writing a book or three these days.)

Oh -- and be sure your fur jacket is faux unless you want PETA on your case. They can be much harsher on people than people are on pets.

Baby quilt like my Grandma used to make

As a kid I loved the quilts my Grandma maid. I still have most up safly tucked in my closet. She worked so hard and made them for all of us Grandkids, (17!) and now great Grand children. We just keep spreading like weeds!

Feeling Witchy?

Lol, I am so I had to play with mo's cute little witch.

I hand sponged the background using a Zindorf tutorial. We all know I'm a succer for her work. Then popped the witch of the page. She is colored in using copic markers. The bats in the back ground are from inkadinkado ( I Love that name, it is just so fun to say)

 

What can you do with a digi?

I thought it was time for another tutorial.. This will give some basic steps on

layering and popping the image.

  

1rst I sponged my background onto a full size sheet of card stock then put it in my printer and printed the digi onto the background.

The inks are from Stampin up': going gray, pink pirouette, soft sky, old olive and summer sun.

Also used was Tim Holtz old wood, tattered rose and adirondack in raisin.

I cut the clouds out from post it note's, stuck them on the page where I wanted them and then went to town inking the page and my fingers every color of the rainbow.

I then cut the whole thing to a size that I needed.

 

I started cutting and piecing a white layer over the printed image to start my base.

 

 

 

Then it's time to pop the image, as you can see I go through a TON of double stick tape. I buy it in large roles and usually I go through a role every few weeks.

 

Start by cutting out the main 1rst layer. Notice how I left off any fence line and the rear legs..

 

Start filling in with double stick, then carefully add the image on top of the previous image.

 

 

Keep adding layers until you are satisfied with the result.

 

 

 

Then it's time to add the color. I started with copic w9.

 

I then started adding shading and touching up in-between the layers with:

W10, W7, E44, black 100, special black 110, C1, 0,  W9 ,copic liner 0.3 and a spica in black.

 

 

I water colored the fence line in with Tim Holtz old wood.

 

Then colored in the rest of the image with B45, E39,Yr18, R27, Yr02, E35, YG03, EO2, E00 and copic liner 0.3.

 

Then added in some finishing details by sponging the edges, coloring in some grass and adding some stickles. I find that when I have dark colors that seem to blend to well stickles really helps me pop the remaining bit of the image.

 

 I hoped this inspired you to go out and play with a digi, and some copic too!

Dalmation Teddy

My twins dressed up as Dalmatians one year for Halloween. My MIL maid these absolutely beautiful costumes. I have saved them and now my youngest will wear one this year.

I just Love them.

A cherished teddy reminded me of them so I Had to make a digi out of it.

I found her this afternoon and am in ahhhhh of her skills. Amazing!!

I tried to pop my image using colors instead of layers. (Not a strong point for me)

The back grounds have been dry embossed on a sizzix using stampin up texture pads. then distressed using Tim Holtz distress inks.

New release

Lol I've finally taken a bit of time to add to my digi's. I have been so inspired by Mo's digi's I had to force myself to quit playing long enough to get some work done :)

Here is a new Halloween Teddy bear dressed up in a puppy suit.

This is my Girl's night out.. Can't tell I'm loving on my pretty feet and nails right?

Lol, Dug out all my hills today. Wow I'm tall.

This is a TimNShells Digi available in my store. I have popped and layered the image three times, then colored it in with a black copic marker. I then glazed the shoes and went to town with my favorite paper from stash.

Some Loud music a bit of dancing in my chair and this card came together on it's own.

Rushing through before Volley ball!

The twins are heading for Volley ball camp this morning so I am trying to get all my work done before we leave. I am sooo behind!

Lol my Mom took me out yesterday and I got my nails done for the 1rst time in seven years and had my first pedicure.. Can I just say I was SCARED!! But in the end not so bad.. except holy cow my fingers were throbbing last night.. Got to love the drill... So no working which is why I'm behind..

Ok to make the long story short here are pics of my card using Mo's digi's.

 

I had to take this shot out side it felt western and Hey I live in the west so why not :)

This card is made up in my usual Mo's digi fashion, except when cutting and piecing I opted to piece on to DP instead of using the white printed background.

Every thing is colored in with copics except the fence which is water colored in with weathered wood in the distress ink's by TIm Holtz.

I really need to pull these out and play with them more often..

This card was fun to make..

 

Aside from the normal frill of cards I usually make I wanted this to have a wild feel to it..

So I hand painted the background using the sponges and stampin up inks.. the sand is,River rock with a few dabs of old olive. I used sticky notes to create the layers as you will find in Zindorf's tutorials.

THe flowers are stampin up Embrace life, I was lazy and didn't heat emboss them, I just colored them in with a yellow copic with touches of orange here and there.

The outside boarders are first done with Soft sky.. I sponged all the whit showing with it, then tempting turquoise and finally more old olive..

The image has been colored in with copics, mainly N3 and N5. The monkey is Yr23 and shading of yr24

I've got it sooooo Bad!

Mo I just can't get enough of your Digi's!!!

Here is one she released last night, called end of summer.. Hmmm I can just smell those flowers..

I colored them after the millions of small sun flowers around here. I just Love them!

 

 

She is colored in using copic markers, I have sponged around the outside in summer sun, apricot and dusty durango.

Each of the front flowers has been cut out and popped up. A bit of stickle in the middle helps it to pop off the card even more. Her head, hair and shoulders have been popped and the flip flops too. Lol I colored the flip flops to match my favorite LL bean flip's Pink with black polka dot's. Just couldn't resist!
